My Songs

During my lifetime, I have composed many songs and have had the priviledge of recording some of them in Nashville, Tennessee.  My songs are mostly Country, Folk, Cajun, Gospel, Pop and Novelty.  I'm from a time when lyrics were important.  I also wrote and recorded "THE LIFE & SONGS OF STEPHEN FOSTER".  I wrote, produced and played the part on stage in the U.S.  All of my songs are original, except the Stephen Foster tunes.

The Creamcheeze Good-Time Band

Picture
The Creamcheeze Good-Time Band, above, recorded this MCA Records LP album "home cookin'" in the early 70s.  My son, Billy (with guitar), composed the lead song, "Living Without You" plus 3 other songs on the album and did the lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Also in the picture are my daughter, Patti Kell (harmony and lead vocal, harmonica, washboard, tamborine), my son, Jimi Kell (front right - drums, spoons), Dave Harwood (back left - bass) and Doug McNaughton (back right - fiddle, lead guitar, mandolin, chin cello).
Earlier, the band had recorded the album "perth county green"  under the Dominion label.   On this album, Barb Payne, then 15,  played the fiddle, maracas, washboard, recorder and added to the singing.
